Jim Ansbro (1941 -2022)

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death, on 10th Oct 2022, of our beloved past ITBA President, Jim Ansbro. For many years, Jim, a true gentleman and accomplished bowler, was very actively involved with the monthly Seniors Touring League and loved his annual trips to the European Senior (ESBC) event.

Jim was conferred with Honorary Membership in 2019 in recognition of his highly significant contribution and distinguished service, including his pivotal role in representing the Association at both Sport Ireland and the Department of Sport. He served with such distinction as ITBA President from 2014 to 2018.

Many benefited from Jim’s encouragement and sage advice, while he always generously gave of his time. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Margaret, daughter Fiona, his five sons, James, Stephen, Edward, Michael and Paul and all his extended family.

ITBA Senior Touring League 2022/23 – Event 1 Results

Hi All Seniors,

Thank you for all your Support for our first outing of the Seniors Tour 2022 / 2023 Season. There was a great turn out of 39 players.

There was some great scoring and close finishes by the men and the ladies.

All expressed the good feeling to be back playing in the competition and meeting up again.

It was really nice to see Liam Byrne return after a long absence.

The rest seemed to have  done him a world of good. Getting back to his old form and putting it up to the rest of us.

A big welcome back Liam from all of us.

Congratulations to all the winners. They put in a great performance.

Some of us did not perform to expectations , but there is always next time. Such is the rollercoaster ride of ten pin bowling .

Thanks to Leisureplex for hosting the competition and a special thanks to Nicola / Sean and all the staff for their help. It was much appreciated.

Hope to see you all in Leisureplex Coolock on the 2nd Oct 2022, 9oc Start.

Keep Safe till then,

The Committee
