ITBA Senior Touring League 2019/20 – Event 5 “2 Events in 1” Results

The second running of Event 5 in conjunction with the Leisureplex Irish Open was well supported with 42 bowlers competing. This unique format provides Senior bowlers with the opportunity to compete in the European Bowling Tour Irish Open event and at the same time introduces an “Age Bonus” event with Ladies and Gents finals on the day, hence the “2 Events in 1”. Our thanks go to Lorraine Mayland in Leisureplex Stillorgan and Barry Brown – The Bowlers Pro Shop for their support and sponsorship of this event.

The Event 4 Notice for ALSAA (2 Squads) on December 8th is also on the ITBA Web/Senior tab and this outlines changes to the Squad 1 / Squad 2 preferences for all bowlers arising out of the 2018/19 Senior End-of Season Survey. Please review and when we request your Squad choice on the Senior WhatsApp group be aware of the options and how we will administer them.

Grand Prix 2019 – Results

Congratulations to all players who took part in the 2019 Grand Prix and to the organisers and staff of Leisureplex Stillorgan for another successfull event.

This year saw the Ladies section being won by Aimee Whistler (Under 16’s) while the Mens was won by Aidan Byrne (Team Ireland).  The overall champion playoff was won by Aidan.

September 30th 2019 – Death of Frank Byrnes

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved member, Frank Byrnes. Frank was a member of the ITBA for many years serving in various roles from Chairman of the Executive Committee to Chairman of the Senior Sub-Committee. He was a friend to everyone he met and a source of strength for all who knew him. He will be sadly missed. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Wednesday (October 2) from 5pm to 6pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday (October 3) at 11am in the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Ballinteer, followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery.
