Jim Ansbro (1941 -2022)

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death, on 10th Oct 2022, of our beloved past ITBA President, Jim Ansbro. For many years, Jim, a true gentleman and accomplished bowler, was very actively involved with the monthly Seniors Touring League and loved his annual trips to the European Senior (ESBC) event.

Jim was conferred with Honorary Membership in 2019 in recognition of his highly significant contribution and distinguished service, including his pivotal role in representing the Association at both Sport Ireland and the Department of Sport. He served with such distinction as ITBA President from 2014 to 2018.

Many benefited from Jim’s encouragement and sage advice, while he always generously gave of his time. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Margaret, daughter Fiona, his five sons, James, Stephen, Edward, Michael and Paul and all his extended family.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Message From The Chairman

Hi All,

I just wish to thank you all for a great turnout for the second Tour in Leisureplex Coolock, it was great to see.

Thanks to Leisureplex for hosting the event.

Thanks to Sean for his very much appreciated input as always.

Thanks to Peter Furlong for doing the scores.

As this allowed all the committee members  to bowl.

Congratulations to all the winners: Nickey O Malley; Niall Cullen; Anita Watts; Kay Lyons.

I Would like to welcome the new participants, hope you enjoyed the day.

I would like to thank all the Seniors who stayed back for the meeting..

Sadly it was a bit too noisy to have a proper conversation.

There were a lot of views expressed, so in order to give them a proper airing Paddy Kilduff has booked a room in ALSAA  to have a meeting after the Senior Tour event in ALSSA on the 4th December.

This will allow us to discuss issues and hopefully come to an agreed solution to the financing issues.

Those who have not replied to my email re interest in the European Championships  could you please do so immediately, as I will need to put them forward to the selection committee for consideration.

Kind Regards

Joe Ridgeway

PS  I would like to thank all the committee members for all the work they do to keep the Seniors alive.

ITBA Senior Touring League 2022/23 – Event 1 Results

Hi All Seniors,

Thank you for all your Support for our first outing of the Seniors Tour 2022 / 2023 Season. There was a great turn out of 39 players.

There was some great scoring and close finishes by the men and the ladies.

All expressed the good feeling to be back playing in the competition and meeting up again.

It was really nice to see Liam Byrne return after a long absence.

The rest seemed to have  done him a world of good. Getting back to his old form and putting it up to the rest of us.

A big welcome back Liam from all of us.

Congratulations to all the winners. They put in a great performance.

Some of us did not perform to expectations , but there is always next time. Such is the rollercoaster ride of ten pin bowling .

Thanks to Leisureplex for hosting the competition and a special thanks to Nicola / Sean and all the staff for their help. It was much appreciated.

Hope to see you all in Leisureplex Coolock on the 2nd Oct 2022, 9oc Start.

Keep Safe till then,

The Committee

ITBA Senior Touring League 2021/22 – Event 10 Results

I wish to express my thanks to Adrian and Staff at LeisureMax Wexford for all their help on Sunday, making the final tour for this season a great success.

There  were a few hiccups, but we managed to get through. Thanks To Paddy Kilduff and others.

The oil condition was challenging enough but some found it favorable. The super glue on the 10 pin caused a problem but bowling is a cruel sport.

I would like to congratulate the winners. Full result and rankings can be found on the Seniors pages.

Well done all.

Regards

Joe and The committee
